The rather beautiful Brewery Vivant. I think I overheard someone saying it used to be a funeral home.
The rest of these are from the Meijer Gardens, an odd botanical-sculpture-garden where we did some knitwear photo-shootings.
Scary carnivorous plant!
Trying to look as put-out as that bear.
GIANT NEURON! SO COOL.
There'll be some more neato sculptures coming up with the knits ;-) But that's good for now.
I love cities with a lot of different public art. I don't suppose you happen to know who make the neuron? It looks like a tree that is in DC, and I wanted to know if it was the same artist.
ReplyDeleteI believe it's by Roxy Paine, which is a badass name.
ReplyDeleteAww you were in MY neck of the woods!! GR isn't bad, but it doesn't have the kickin' spinning loft that you have over in AA...
ReplyDeleteThe spinning loft is awesome but it's in Howell so I don't make it there much anyway :-P I'm due for a trip. (Or maybe not, my fiber stash is pretty overflowing, heh...)
DeleteI did not make it to GR's yarn store(s) on this trip... any good 'uns?
Nevermind that. Fiber stashes are meant to overflow (at least that's what I tell myself...)!
ReplyDeleteThreadbender is a pretty nice store... and there's a new one that I've been meaning to get to called "A Grand Skein" that sounds promising.
so funny to see this post... you were only about an hour north of me. I have pictures with that same bear from my childhood and just was able to get my butt to Brewery Vivant recently. you did hear correctly, it was in fact a funeral home/chapel in prior lives. :D
ReplyDeleteYou cut your hair and you are drinking a beer?! wha?
