Howlcat is an intriguing little garment that is both cowl and hat, and is also reversible! The pattern contains two sizes, which should fit most people (and it's very simple to tweak!) It is the ultimate in super-simple tv knitting and a great project for a beginner!

The pattern includes a photo tutorial for converting it - it's really rather simple ;-)
You can find it on Ravelry here

Also works on dogs!

Many thank yous to Vivian and Anatole for their photographic/modeling talents on the silver/yellow version!

ReplyDeleteı wondered how much.and could you put more photo pleaseeeeeeee ı want to knit the same thing. :)
I love the concept!
ReplyDeleteHow do you switch to the second half? The pattern just states switch to smaller needles and lighter weight yarn, is there a name for the technique?
Thanks
You can either slip all your stitches onto the smaller needles and then just begin knitting with the other yarn (so cut the old one leaving a long tail to weave in later, and tie the new one on) or you can pretty much do both at the same time- switch which yarn you're working with, and starting knitting with the smaller needle, off of the bigger needle.
