OFFFOFFFOFFF!

I went to the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival today, in case the title didn't give that away. It was, all in all, a lovely day with fine weather, delightful company, yummy festival food, and pretty, pretty wools.

Also sheep, which are hilarious every time. BLAAAAAAAAAGGHHH!

(I also saw a dog herd some ducks but as usual my good camera is too clunky to take to these things, so the picture is pretty dull.)

I was sorely tempted by the angora bunnies, but managed (no thanks to Miss "I'll take it on weekends!" Vivian,) to leave bunny-free, if not quite empty handed.

And now, the parade of woolies!

The breakdown, for those interested (and let's face it, my own records... Rav's no good for rovings, yet) is as follows:

3.4oz Targhee from Sweet Grass Wools, no color name (it's a one-off, I think.)

Top: Crown Mountain Farms Superwash, 8oz, "Black Magic Woman"
Bottom: Dyelots! 6oz Merino, no color name

Top: Dragonfibers Autumnal, 4oz, Superwash merino, cashmere, nylon, 80/10/10
Bottom three: Maiden Skeins mixed wool, about 2oz of each (split with Vivian)

Top: Plum Crazy Ranch, left is silk/angora, right is silk/cashmere, 10g each.
Bottom: Mink (yes, mink) and cashmere. Only $10! Only 50 yards, but hey. It's friggin MINK.

Mmmmm. Fibery.

  1. Remember when you rented petting zoo animals for your high school graduation party and a deer I think briefly escaped? Good times!
