If you're not familiar with it, the Tour de Fleece is a bit of a spinning-community phenomenon orchestrated by my fellow Twisted yarn-slinger, Star. The point is to spin every day during the Tour de France. The Ravelry group is pretty huge, and it's been kind of excellent seeing the fruits of that many concurrent spinners. I wouldn't even know the Tour de France was happening now otherwise, so I'm not sure I'm spinning along with it, really, but it seemed like a good excuse to use up a bunch of my stash.
I've already burned through the exciting handpainted rovings that I picked up at Black Sheep:

And now I've moved on to spinning up a bunch of scraps:

Eventually I'll have to start carding the odds and ends together...ooohfun. I've had to slow down, though, or I'm going to run out of stash before this is over, and it's not quiiitte in the budget to buy a bunch more roving.
And this, my friends, is why I need a small flock of sheep. Don't you agree?
A flock of sheep, that would solve everything! I wonder if they'd be okay living on my patio.
ReplyDeleteI really love the red/mint yarn. It remids me of something, but I can't quite pinpoint what it reminds me of.
My husband keeps looking out the sliding glass doors & announcing-nope, she hasn't gotten an alpaca yet, but I think it may come soon.hehe. Your yarn is beautiful & I think you should have entered it with Lantern Rouge-they take breaks! I only just started spinning with a spindle & am convinced I'd do better with a wheel, I think I've got the whole family convinced so as far as I can tell they're all chipping in to get me one for my Christmas/birthday gift woohoo! Then, maybe I'll sneak an alpaca into the backyard mwaahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThese colors are fantastic!! I especially love the blue, yellow, purple skein.
