It's sort of the Phiaro Scarf from Knitscene, but I couldn’t find my copy of the magazine (I KNOW I have it somewhere…) so I pieced it together through what I remembered from looking at it and people’s various comments online. Turned out well, I think. I twisted the stitches immediately before and after the drop to help keep them in shape, which worked respectably well. Not terribly exciting to knit, but the finished result is probably worth it. The fringe is still kinky even after blocking, but it's nothing a few months of Portland drizzle won't cure.

LOVE this yarn (Malabrigo Silky Merino, in Indiecita.)

I also finally got all that gifted raw alpaca processed. It now looks like this:

Mmm, chocolatey. There's gray underneath, too. This might be another reason why I haven't knitted much. I don't know how I'm going to get it all to Portland. Sigh.
gorgeous yarn!
ReplyDeleteI'm new here. I just had to say, I love that scarf. So different, which is GREAT. Love the hats below as well. Really considering making myself a Floopy.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a safe and happy journey!
whoot, you're moving to portland! yep, get ready, land of yarn shops every six feet.
ReplyDeleteDon't I know it - that's the LAST thing I need. And yet I'm pretty happy about it...
ReplyDelete(I lived here for a few years a while back but all sorts of new ones sprung up in my absence. Aye me.)
