At last- The Delicious!

This was one of the first things I actually tried to write down directions for...and it's been a long time in the tweaking. It uses a really pretty cool yarn made out of corn silk (who knew?) but pretty much works with any worsted weight you can find. It's good like that.

You can get the pattern in my etsy shop here

or find it (and buy it, now, because my shop is set up...yay!) on Ravelry here

(if you're not a member, you can buy directly with this crazy button:

(the fine print: Your purchase of this pattern constitutes your agreement to use this pattern only for personal, non-profit use without specific written permission from the designer (just email me!) Items made from this pattern may not be sold without permission, nor may the pattern itself be copied, sold, or distributed in any way. You may print one copy for personal use but may not print multiples to distribute, nor may you share the digital file with others. Thanks guys!)

If you need to contact me with questions, my email address is - please email instead of commenting since it's much easier for me to reply that way! Thanks!

So I went on vacation for a few weeks (with no real internet access) and I wrote whole big long things and took lots of pictures to show you.....and left them on the wrong computer.

So, they will show up late. But we can pretend, eh?

In which I am unmasked, sort of. I was in all those other pictures....

It occurred to me that perhaps I should actually use this blog for, you know, a little blogging. A little somethin' somethin' other than patterns and the occasional picture of yarn. Perhaps I should engage my limited readership in some way.

So this:

is me. I usually do look that scruffy, but with more layers because I'm perpetually cold.

I'm at my third college in four years (long stories) and going back to the first one next year to finish up, which means a year of hardcore thesis-work. I used to be an art major, now I'm a psych major, even though my career interests still lie closer to an artistic domain... I couldn't handle the art-related academia. Pretension so thick you could cut it with a knife, you know?

Anyway, I'm the only knitter in the world who doesn't like cats (I'm allergic, it's not my fault) but I do live with this little guy (well, most of the time...not this semester):

He is old and deaf and stupid but hilarious and pretty darn spritely.

I also tend to pretty much live with my boyfriend, he of the dinosaur hat.

Good guy. Wears the ridiculous shit I knit for him. Got to respect that. The other day I accidentally spit a shard of carrot at him, and laughed so hard I wept and was nearly completely immobile and mute for about 10 minutes. I don't know why that happened but it kind of hurt a little. I hear it's good for you, though.

I'd like to say that I have some hobbies outside of knitting and occasionally drawing on gloves, but homework tends to consume me. One of these days I'm going to take up yoga. Really. Or maybe that fancy hoola hooping. Or pole dancing. The kind where you pay for classes, not the kind where you just wing it and get paid. Yeeeah.

Um... I guess that's pretty much the extent of the basics. I solemnly swear that I will try and actually post quasi-entertaining word-smithery here occasionally.
